Latest of my 4/4 CC Creatures photo added

IMG_4168.jpeg Yes, the most recent of my 5 valve 4/4 CCs made its first gutteral moans of life this afternoon as I gave it some vibrant kisses. It will be ready soon for purchase. I see that the 4/4 Eastmans (sort of like it) are selling for a touch over $9k. I will be offering this one for a ...

Big Mouth Brass Large 5 valve F tuba SOLD

[flash=][/flash]Available for purchanse is my BMB F tuba that's about 20 years old. It has several innovative features:
There are two extra branches which only recently become more common. You can see these in a couple of the photos of the back of the tuba. They look a lot like the plumbing traps ...

5/4 BBb 5-valve creature $3950 SOLD

Here's a BBb that I put together for myself to play in Brass Band, and played until I swithed to baritone horn to fill a vancancy in that section. It could be considered either small 5/4 or large 4/4 size. It plays very well in tune. The bore size is 0.687/.689" (17.5mm). Bell diameter is 19". It's ...

Re: 6/4 Wessex 5-valve Grand BBb reduced $5000

I am the original owner. The bell has not been changed or modified. The bright line across the throat of the bell is clear vinyl tubing to damp some intrinsic bell vibration. It improves clarity and projection.

Marzan CC tuba SOLD

This is a real "time capsule" find. My former student bought it around 1975 before he went to study at IU with Harvey Philips. Things didn't work out and he changed majors; sending his tuba to his mother to store away. He never returned to playing it. His mother passed away this summer and now he ...

Alexander Mouthpiece

Here's a very rare mouthpiece made by Alexander; probably for the Vienese 3+3 F tuba. It has an extremely large shank. From the color of the metal it looks to me like "German Silver" which is a specific alloy sometimes used as the bright metal fittings on string instrument bow frogs. The rim is in ...

Re: WTB - small shank mouthpiece

I have a small shank mouthpiece that was made in England. It is thus marked and stamped with G84. It seems the size and cup shape is close to the Wick 2. It is in excellent condition.

Curry 132G Mouthpiece

This is one of the largest contrabass mouthpieces in my collection. I bought it to play BBb bass parts in brass band. It served me well. I no longer play tuba with the band; having moved up to second baritone. I have no plans of returning to BBb so I'm selling off most of the largest instruments and ...
