Well, I've been inundated with trumpets and trombones recently.
I almost forgot that I had this beat up Stradivarius to fix for someone, because it was still sitting in the house and I hadn't taken it out to the shop.
It was messed up pretty bad, but I got it all straightened out and cleaned up in a short enough amount of time so as to have made what the typical shop charges at an automobile repair place, and I think they'll be happy with it.
No, I rarely take before pictures. I've been told that I should.
This bell was really messed up. I had to work pretty hard to get it close to being a perfectly round cone with a planar rim... And there were tiny little dinks all around the bow of the bell. Truth be told, larger dinks would have been easier to remove.
reminder:
I just finished super picking over a set of six professional grade trombones for a pretty good paycheck.
lyre holder:
They specifically requested it.
I found that I had a couple that are the exact type that Bach uses when this is requested on one of their trumpets (the same ones that they use on the student models).
Lots of stuff was bent up. I'll save you the boring details.
It's really gratifying to be able to do this type of work for people WHEN THEY COME AND PAY FOR IT, AND TAKE THEIR STUFF WITH THEM.
