Is the EBB623 a new Eastman model? I can't keep up with all their models?
What is this based on? And... is it any good?

Sorry for being a smart aleck: 4 hours of sleep turns off my social filter. It’s good to “see/hear/read from you”.the infallible Google wrote: Thu Mar 05, 2026 12:52 am
The Eastman EBB623 is a professional-level 5/4 size "Germanic" style BBb tuba, frequently recognized as being heavily influenced by or similar in design to the Miraphone Model 91. It features 4 rotary valves, an 18-inch bell, and a .835-inch bore, designed for a large,, orchestral sound in a relatively compact wrap.
Some old Yorks, Martins, and perhaps a King rotary valved CC

The EBB-623 has been around for some time but was overshadowed by the -562, then -825/825V.
If you liked the GR-51 better than the Miraphone 191, then the 562 or 825 would most likely be your preference. Ergonomics are quite different on each model.
