Suspiciously low price, brand new eBay user. The photos are lifted from the Japanese eBay-like site Mercari where it is listed for $16k USD.

Beware, don't fall for it.

Just as a query about ebay: If you don't receive what you bought, can't you officially go through ebay and get your money back?

I guess I'm safe. I wouldn't pay $5,000 for one of those anyway.

Yes, or PayPal if you used that to purchase, or any number of credit cards that have fraud protection on the account. But oh, the hassle! With no guaranteed resolution. Always remember the first word in purchasing anything: if the deal seems too good to be true, then it probably is.

I contemplated trying to do that with the cello I bought on ebay, decided that saying it did not meet the description as an "expert" cello was going to be difficult, because vendors typically will say that about student cellos. Since have found out that finding one with the string length of this one would be exceedingly difficult, and even though the sound is far from "expert" I find it very playable, and I did have it set up by an expert luthier. Good enough to find out if I'm going to get where I want technically.
