Sellmansberger mouthpieces NEXT BATCH...(probably Feb. 2026)

Post by bloke »

The first batch of NONE PRE-SPOKEN FOR (ie. no "pre-selling" campaign, this time, and we REALLY APPRECIATE those who you who agreed to pre-buy in the past) Sellmansberger BRASS mouthpieces

DEPENDING ON THE MODEL...
- some will be one-piece
- some will be threaded to accept any Sellmansberger stainless rim
- some will be offered in both standard and euro shank sizes
- OG Ultimate (biggest seller - so far - of the brass models, plays most any contrabass tuba well...very CLEAR sound on 4/4 - 5/4...CLEANS UP and DEFINES the sound with 6/4 instruments)
Here is this mouthpiece on a huge BB-flat tuba (6/4 rotary, Holton-345-sized bell, and .835" bore through the 5 rotors)...

- Sellmansberg II (Helleberg II / L-30H style cup ...This is a very popular cup-style...This is my effort to make is something that I myself might consider using (rim/throat/back-bore) with this style of cup. I've observed that this style cup is one of the few that will play slightly flat-natured contrabass tubas up to pitch (without cutting the instrument).

Shallowberger - This is a mouthpiece with a cup depth significantly shallower than the thought-to-be-shallow TU-23/C4 cup depth. Additionally, the throat size and exit bore would both be considered ~NOT~ large. This is an ideal mouthpiece for an F cimbasso as well as for VERY small tubas (such as vintage .625" bore E-flat tubas, and other very small tubas). It's also an EXCELLENT "Berlioz" mouthpiece (for tuba players who use their F tubas to play Berlioz overtures, symphonies, and other Berlioz-composed ophicleide parts using their F tubas. (I have a video clip released of - NO PRACTICE TIME INVOLVED - running up "the lick" in Symphonie Fantastique with this mouthpiece.

Symphony - We also have a THREADED FOR RIMS ONLY (no one-piece version) silver-plated brass "Symphony" cup "underpart" (cup/shank). and this is ONLY available in a "P" shank (in-between standard and euro - a handy shank size for owners of many of the models of B&S-made contrabass tubas...and (if crafty) these shanks can be "home-sanded" down to standard shank if desired.

➡️ ALL of the modular stainless steel mouthpieces are in stock.

Put me down for an OG Ultimate when they come in. I’ll stick one in my 345 and leave it there.

Interested in an OG ultimate for my Amati B&F Kaiser. What would the price, and shipping, be to this side of the pond?

One-piece silver plated brass is 175 USD plus whatever the postage is these days. Based on past experience, I don't think you would wish to pay for any postage any higher cost than the cheapest.

I have no idea what the tariff du jour is...

I have discovered that part of the delay in running all these mouthpieces - that I have asked my contracted shop to run - is due to them finding it necessary to work with their their machine so as the surface on the outside of the mouthpiece coming out of the machine is controlled, and looks the same every time.

My prototype looked so cool to me - and continues to - that I just polished the rim and left the rest of the exterior with the original machine finish (and I sent the prototype off to Anderson looking just like that).

They can do a post-production scratch brush thing or a sandblast thing (neither of which I'm interested in), but they have worked on their machine's program - particularly for my products - so that - when they come out of the manufacturing stage - the surface is predictable from one to the next (ready to plate, other than polishing the rim smooth) without subtle anomalies in the surface, in order to achieve what I want (appearance-wise) to offer to you folks.

I was just told that all my stuff's ready. :smilie8:
I'm going to see about driving over there tomorrow morning and getting back in the early afternoon before the ice and snow hit around here.
