Tuba Tuesday: Pan American, EE flat tuba, 3 piston, c.1935

Happy Tuba Tuesday. Today, the Museum features a Pan American, EE flat tuba, 3 piston, c.1935.

Serial #: 103994

Bell Diameter 16.0″, Bore: .625″, Height: 30 3/4″.

Comments:

“- PAN AMERICAN – / ELKHART IND. U.S.A.” within elaborate eagle and globe engraved on bell. “103994” on second valve. “1”, “2”, “3” stamped on first, second, and third valves respectively.

I like these, but i like strap loops at the base of the bell and 2/3rds up the other side, rather than at the bow extremities...

Feels weird having such a specific opinion. Is that what growing up is like?

Sorry, i did not mean to offend.

I just need to hold the instrument close while i blow it and finger the valves.

I only have so many hands, especially when it isn't in my lap...

I think i do this with every instrument.
