Happy Tuba Tuesday. Today, the Museum features a York, B flat euphonium, 3 piston, c.1926.

Serial #: 85587

Bell Diameter 11 1/8″, Bore: .560″, Height: 25 1/2″.

Comments:

“Made By / J.W. YORK & SONS/ Grand Rapids / Mich.” on bell. Some floral engraving around identification marks. Upper and lower 1st and 3rd valve slides for pitch adjustment while playing.

And one finger button is in stealth mode.

I guess i don't handle euphs or baritones often enough, but it feels like the bell may stick above out the body a bit more than usual? Is that a desirable trait?

I think the bugle has a smaller wrap because the main tuning slide is in the lead pipe. Also, the front piston horns usually have a front facing bell.
