I own an Alexander tenor tuba that I've had in Martin WIlk's shop in southern IN for several years. I obviously have not missed it that much.
Here are a couple of videos of me attempting to play it, when I had it in my possession.
You can try this at Martin's shop, or contact him for more information. $750.

How did you record that? was it "just" a phone or computer? I'm still messing with trying to find an input that doesn't clip off the planet when I play the tuba at it.
Re: Alexander tenor tuba $750
I believe that was through my Macbook with a Beyerdynamic M88 mic. I no longer have that set up in my studio, so that's relying on my sometimes faulty memory.

How did you connect the mike? I have a Rode mike but have not yet made the attempt because of other stuff going on.Bflatbass wrote: Wed Aug 06, 2025 3:24 am I believe that was through my Macbook with a Beyerdynamic M88 mic. Did you just "plug it in?"

Yes, it's still at Martin Wilk's shop and you can contact him about the horn.

This little tenor tuba has just about been sold several times and then fallen through. Since it's several states away in Indiana at Martin's shop, I tend to forget about it. It's still available. It's playable as is and Martin is willing to clean it up to any level you'd like.

So glad it's found a new home! Much better than sitting on a shelf at Martin's shop!
