On Friday 4th July the Phoenix Concert Band (Sutton UK) will be giving the World Premier of my latest composition "Bravura for Tuba" the soloist will be the wonderful Adam Cooper. I am hoping that this piece will help take the tiba solo out of the comic or weird categories.
It all started last year when I gave Adam a lift to the station, we were bemoaning the fact that all the tuba solos woth concert bands ate a bit of a joke. We wanted something pun free with a title that didn't refer to hippos or elephants! As Adam got out the car he said "well then, you'd better write it" so I have and this it. I will publish it after the first performance.
