Re: Conn 20J Minneapolis $500
Still seems weird to me. He states it was bought from Baltimore Brass 3 years ago for $1295 and bought a new set of cases from Taylor Music in 2020, yet is selling if for $500.
But, who knows, maybe the person just needs to get rid of it.

Re: Conn 20J Minneapolis $500
That's great Bort. I'm glad you connected.
By the pictures, it looks like it was in storage. Those two cases take up some room, so its a negative cash flow if it isn't being used.
I recently sold a 4'x6' (small) hydraulic dump trailer that I made years ago. I listed it for $300 because I wanted it gone and didn't want to mess around. I must have had 30 messages about it in the first 24 hours. Many people told me that I should have listed it for >$800. Maybe, but it sold quickly and it was out of my yard, which made the missus pleased.
Sometimes just wanting things to disappear is a good incentive to list them for sale at a good price.
Again, @bort2.0 I'm glad you found it, or it found you (whichever), but please, don't now go selling your Alex!!!

Re: Conn 20J Minneapolis $500
Well, I'm meeting him at a Public Storage, so that part checks out.
The rest... I'll see! I haven't done many CL deals, but those that I've done were perfectly normal. I actually think I've been to this exact Public Storage facility before for another purchase (some vintage German-made dining room chairs). Seemed creepy at first, but I met the guy out front where it was lit up like daytime and there were lots of visible security cameras. And also, it's Hopkins, MN... Not exactly the most threatening place around. :)
@York-aholic thanks for posting this. And no worries, the Alex is not threatened by a Conn 20J. :)

Bort,
Great! Now just let us 'locals' know when your next outdoor summer band concert will be! (Mine is next week Tuesday, on beautiful Detroit Lake)

Legit deal, just what you all were guessing the case to be. Tuba now lives in my garage.

Excellent @bort2.0 I’m glad it landed in your lap (figuratively speaking).

Better be figurative... This monster would break my legs if it landed too hard. :)York-aholic wrote: Mon May 24, 2021 8:31 pm Excellent @bort2.0 I’m glad it landed in your lap (figuratively speaking).
