Must be. As a point of comparison, one sold for $9,500 less than that amount about five years ago.

Can you say, "OVERPRICED?"

Now at $5,500 -- a much more reasonable/realistic price.
This looks to be a 1970s -- early 1980s model, in excellent condition. Still has the Getzen scribe on the bell, S-linkage, etc. Meinl-Weston made multiple changes to this model over the years. Good tubas

Keep going...
For the record, I think these play pretty well. A lot like a 186, but -- unexpectedly -- can handle a little more input than the 186. Some 186's go straight to blatt for me. The Bell model has a bit of a higher ceiling.
Not bad horns, but $5,500 is a lot of money, and you have a lot of options. I wouldn't mind owning one if the price was what I wanted... But it would have to be quite a bit below $5,500 for me.

I tried to make an offer, and the Reverb site blocked me.

I didn't realize you were telling me that the price is now $5,500. I thought you were suggesting that if the price were $5,500...catgrowlB wrote: Wed Apr 08, 2026 3:01 pm Now at $5,500 -- a much more reasonable/realistic price.

Yes, that's a much better price
