The king Dump

Post by LeMark »

I've spent so long talking about the king dump I decided to finally catch it on camera.

Quick and easy, no twirling the tuba or pulling slides. Faster than a water key and directs the water away from you. Can also be done to the right side, but I was sitting right there.

eww.
Of course, the time to make all that noise and cause all those jumping around reflected light rays off the giant shiny instrument is when there's no one playing but the second violins and a solo oboist during the slow movement.

My Holton tuba with a heavily adulterated King valve section features seven (count 'em) 7 water keys. I'm sure you wouldn't like it, but I prefer sitting still.
Let the percussionist dropping a cymbal or the third trumpet player knocking over their mute distract from the performance.

...and - when the patrons see that - guess what their reaction will be?
eww

(just messin' with you, man 😉) ❤️

I have to dump my Mfone 183 that way. Was doing it at a Salvation Army Christmas brunch free gig and some lady who was in line for the food went EWWWW.

7...

So it takes both hands to dump them all?

How do you hold the tuba up?
