Tariffs

Post by LargeTuba »

Hello, has anyone bought parts from Miraphone or China and had to pay tariffs? Confused on how it works, and I haven’t ordered anything since they were implemented. I need to order some parts from overseas.

Thanks!

Christian has been able to quote me the total cost.
When stuff arrives, no one has their hand out asking me to pay a tariff fee.

They don't just sell to anyone...and - to those of us to whom they sell - they will only ship directly to us, and will not "drop-ship" to our customers.

BTW (I just asked) if anyone desires a 5th rotor on their Miraphone (oval or straight bell) kaiser bariton, I can quote you a price, now.

OK...but (not to be argumentative, but) - as that's the case - I would expect you to ask Miraphone, which is why I framed my response as I did.

with apologies,

Several months ago I ordered a thumb ring from a German company. When it arrived in the US, UPS sent me an email asking for the tariff amount. Once I paid UPS directly, the package continued on its journey to my porch.

I suspect it depends on how it's handled on the shippers end, because there have always been tariffs charged on European imports, and the fact that they are now higher does not define a difference in the way they are now collected.
I never pay tariffs on stuff I've received from Miraphone after receiving goods from them, and I suspect that they charge.me the tariff fees and pay them for me on the front end with my shipping costs.

I just bought a part directly from a company in the UK and did not have to pay any separate fees. It was delivered to me via USPS.

I buy a lot from eBay including items from international vendors, and depending on the vendor, either they factor the tariff into the listed price, or it's called out as a separate charge as shown below.
