Re: Rudi Meinl 3/4 CC $7k (Lynchburg, VA/FB)
One of my fondest tuba memories was listening to the local tuba player in my hometown play this Rudi CC model in the college-community orchestra many years ago. I evesdropped on a rehearsal in the band room at that college (now a university), and later attended the concert in the auditorium. I could hear the tuba player warming up on stage before the concert. They played Brahms 'Academic Festival Overture', and the tuba player nailed the part on his Rudi CC with a glorious clear, buttery sound perfect for a smaller orchestra.
Also, Charles Villarrubia used the same model Rudi CC in the Dallas Brass back in the 1980s - early 1990s, and on their Christmas Brass CD. I asked him and he told me personally at a music camp many years ago. He was with Rythmn & Brass and started using a YFB-822 after his Dallas Brass years.
Keep in mind that "3/4" Rudi CC is really more a 4/4 size tuba -- roughly the size of a Miraphone 186, or VMI Musica.

Pat Landolfi played one in New Jersey for years with laserlike precision, I believe he owned two of them.
Could this be one of them? I remember that unusual slide pull, unless RM put that on many of their horns.

Looking closer, seems to be a reflection of the wrinkly sheet it's lying on.

This an awful lot like the one that was for sale in New York by one of Derek Fenstermacher's old students.
