I am selling my Eastman 836 CC tuba in silver plate. The horn was originally sold new in 2019, and I am the second owner. It has been my favorite tuba I’ve ever owned by a wide margin. I’m honestly still a little surprised to be selling it, but after 28 years of playing CC I’ve transitioned back to BBb since most of my playing these days is in a brass band where BBb just makes more sense.
The tuba is in excellent overall condition. It has a few minor cosmetic dents and some light silver plate wear beginning in the areas where my left hand contacts the instrument while playing. Mechanically, everything works exactly as it should. All five valves operate smoothly and quickly, and all of the valve slides move very freely. The tuba was just cleaned and is ready to provide its next owner with years of excellent service.
The sale includes the original Eastman hard case, which has hardly seen any use, as well as a Cronkhite Cordura gig bag that is still in excellent condition. The zipper on the snap-on music/accessory pouch has come off the track, which may be an easy fix for someone who knows more about zippers than I do.
The tuba is located near Tampa, Florida. I would strongly prefer not to ship, but I am willing to drive a reasonable distance to meet a serious buyer. I am not looking for any trades.
