Selling a Cerveny CC "Piggy"
Selling this tuba that I used during college. I now have several tubas and don’t play this one as much anymore, so I’d love for it to go to someone who will use it. Preferably looking to sell to someone local in Northern Indiana. (South Bend, IN)
I am asking for $3,500

People should understand this is a Unicorn - that plating was most likely done by Anderson after being imported and I'll bet they never did more than a couple dozen. That horn is 40-50 years old and appears to be in excellent condition from the photos. Had I the cash, I'd be on my way to South Bend to pick it up because a Piggy from that era, while not perfect, is a VERY good horn.

That's a very good point. As always, confirm the person selling the tuba is actually the owner before sending any money. If it doesn't pass the smell test and you can't make the sale in person, avoid.
I checked the email address associated with this account and nothing leads me to believe this is Roger Lewis

The seller isn’t Roger Lewis.
The person selling this is a real person who I’ve met on a few occasions. This is a legitimate ad.

Re: Selling a Cerveny CC "Piggy"
This came across my Facebook feed a few days ago in the "Tuba, Sousaphone, Euphonium, Baritone, Trombone, Marketplace" group, listed by a name that resembles the poster here (not Roger Lewis). I don't know the individual personally even though we live in the same area, but it seems legitimate to me.
Bonus points for the sneaky furry friend stretching in the background.

Re: Selling a Cerveny CC "Piggy"
I got a PM on Facebook that was apparently a copy of the ad for this tuba, and it was from "Roger Lewis."
I thought it very odd that Roger would be sending out blanket PMs, and clearly -- it was odd, because it wasn't Roger. The northern Indiana made it more legit looking because of the WWBW connection, but I assume he is long gone from there.

And if memory serves me correctly, Roger Lewis is in Denton, TX, or near by.Mary Ann wrote: Sat Mar 07, 2026 8:50 am I got a PM on Facebook that was apparently a copy of the ad for this tuba, and it was from "Roger Lewis."
