These are really high quality instruments, considerably better than any American instruments made in the last few decades, and absolutely as good as anything made in Japan. Having looked them over, I don't detect any significant mechanical wear at all. Both of them include Holton Farkas medium cup (MC) mouthpieces that are in pretty good shape.
I'm not pricing them out yet, but (as witnessed here for quite a long time) I price things to sell. (ex: One time - not too long ago - when I priced one of my personal tubas higher than best new price available, I witnessed - on a Facebook page of young up-and-coming adjunct-artistes-of-academia - contemptuous mocking... It sold in five days.
They're mostly shiny with their original lacquer with some predictable scratches. I'm going to smooth them out really nicely, probably touch up a little lacquer here and there, and replace most of the hardware (hinges and latches) on their otherwise intact hard cases.
There's also a really decent condition John Packer (Kruspe wrap...NOT Geyer wrap) model 164 here. Basically, these horns are what Conn 8D horns ought to be - as far as build quality, and feature 80:20 alloy gold brass bells, rather than nickel brass bells.
