Happy Tuba Tuesday. The Museum today features a Conn, 20J recording, BB flat tuba, 3 piston, 1946.

Serial #: 358557

Bell Diameter 24”, Bore Size .772, Height 46.25”.

Comments:

“MADE BY / C.G. CONN Ltd. / ELKHART – IND / USA” on bell. “Naked Lady” emblem engraved around identification marks.

Looking at the catalogue, Conn doesn't seem to be marketing this era of instruments as the "Naked lady" line of instruments.

And i think i am okay with that, especially given the focus on the short stroke of the valves: 34"/64".

Conn short action are really some of the wonkiest valves around, and i sure love them! But i'm still not so good a musician that it matters...
