Oh, ye of little faith. Don't judge the book by its cover. Etc etc.

Looks to be worthy of restoration. That purple patina is lovely. (I have a Holton Eb that is going in that direction. Also a Harvey Hartman York helicon with Conn short-action valves with the same color bell. ) A little work on the knuckles and on the leadpipe, solder some obviously loose joints, and it should be just fine.

Might this be a peckhorn?

I admit, $150 shipping is a deterrent. I won't pass this on -- I'll pass on this.

Seems a bit too chunky to be an alto horn, and I think I spy that the tuning slides look long enough to be for a 9’ Bb instrument.

If the price were free, I’d buy it for the amount that shipping costs.

It's c.1904, but they don't give the bell size.
Too bad it's so far left-coast.
If it’s tourist season, why can’t we shoot them?

Description says the length. I presume one can make an educated guess at bell diameter based on proportions?

(That is how come i decided it were baritone)

It's Old English script that actually reads "J.W. York & Sons".

It's a JW York and Sons. And with that bore size, definitely a Euphonium.

York did have some weird scripts or layouts on some of their engraving.

Convince me this doesn’t look more like “VORK” than “YORK”.

I bought a 1940s York satin silver Euphonium/Baritone for a steal when the seller mislabeled it as a YARK because of the triangle O

Not my image or instrument but this engraving style
