Yeah, I know I haven't finished my B flat (bass trombone) one, but I'm addicted to starting new things without finishing old ones.
I'll come back here after a bit and put down a picture of a BB-flat parts collection.
The bell is 10 inches, and it features a (albeit large) trombone-like bell taper.
This is not a "tuba on a stick" type of bell, and does not feature a Bach/Blessing (etc.) marching baritone bell.
For BB-flat, is a .728" bore too large?

I'm going to try one of those bells.arpthark wrote: Sat Dec 13, 2025 8:37 am Valve section from a Besson compensating BBb?

valve section: I sorta hate to waste the only 3+1 UK-made compensating valveset that I have (which features excellent tolerances) on this...
well...I ACTUALLY have TWO of them, but one is still attached to one of those later-UK-era 19-inch bell Sovereign BB-flats, and is in a nice Jakob Winter case, no less.
MAYBE...a really-good tolerances THREE-valve compensating set and a (so-called) "long whole-step" circuit controlled by a rotary valve...(??)
Hey...This would be YET ANOTHER fingering system for me to learn (and I'm sorta known - yes? - for most of my instruments' fingering systems having nothing whatsoever to do with each other...)
Lord knows, there's PLENTY of length (18 feet total, as is known) to stick "whatever" on it.
