SOLD: B&S PT-3 CC $4500

Post by Gmcnees »

Looking to sell my b&s pt-3, as I recently bought a larger horn.
The pt-3 is a small 4/4 size rotor CC tuba, I bought it used in 2022 while I was in high school, and it served me very well up into my undergrad. It’s a very versatile horn capable of playing both with agility and with that good low German tuba sound.
Comes with a Protec gig bag in good condition. Horn is in good condition with lots of lacquer wear and some small dings. 4.5k located in Northern Alabama, willing to drive up to 4 hours to meet, not interested in shipping.
Please email me at gmcnees1@gmail.com if you’re interested!

I played one of these in college as well. Very nice tuba, puts out a lot more sound than you might expect.

Response is great everywhere on the horn, surprisingly including the low E down to pedal C. Third partial is a little sharp, but with a tiny lip bend on G and some slide pulling it’s perfectly manageable, never had an issue with it after I got used to the G. The only other pt-3 I played had a much worse third partial than this one.

I've played on this one; it's as good as mine, just about as close to point-and-shoot intonation as you could get. Whoever ends up with this one will have a great smallish cc tuba. I use my instrument in chamber music, and it's such an easy fit.

I was really interested until today when my jeep ate up a lot of the money.
