humorous decoration for your instrument repair workroom

Post by bloke »

First of all, my workroom needs about a one-week-long cleaning and organization, and I'm not exaggerating. It's ridiculous.

Pretending that it was all straightened out and cleaned up...

Were I to put up one humorous decoration in there - or just outside of the door, I believe it would be a barber pole.

As far as something whimsical - or that makes a humorous statement about musical instrument repairs that you would put in your instrument repair workroom as a decoration, what would it be?

I took an ancient (okay, 1990s) sign from a dumpster that says:

ACADEMIC CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE
Computer Center

Now that I’m out of an 1880s barn and in a 1960s garage, it’s a little less ironic, but close enough.

On the sloped roof opposite the garage bay doors in the old ambulance bay.

I just remembered that I have all of my college honorary award certificates, my teaching certificate, and my bachelor's diploma (w/summa cum laude sticker on it) all mounted above the solder bench covered with filth.
... If you see my Mom someday, please don't tell her. (She died a quarter century ago.)

So long as you are a good boy, brush your teeth and are kind to animals I’m sure she’s OK with the mess!

no...I'm referring to all of those b.s. honor societies that she spent dough on (against my wishes) to buy me those so-called awards/certificates.

Alas...I also tossed that high school class ring advertising crap in the trash, but she fished it out and bought one for me.
