WTB: Tubachristmas music Eb treble clef

Post by RK333 »

Hello! I want to buy an Eb treble clef Tubachristmas book in advance of the event. I don't have a very-local organizer and am hoping to have one shipped to me.

Does anyone here have one that they could ship to me in Northeast Arkansas, or have any recommendations for me to get one?

I think that this (^^) book is available but can’t be sure (because I live in the UK and only read stuff here on the tubaforum). That aside (with the standard bass clef book) if three sharps are added to the key signature and the bass clef replaced with a treble clef then you’re in business as a treble clef reader playing on an Eb Tuba.

You might also find some help in this old thread elsewhere: http://forums.chisham.com/viewtopic.php?t=78049

Thank you for the reply 2nd tenor! That is my backup plan. Maybe I'll buy a big 8.5x11 copy to replace my tattered 20-year-old half-size book

I've spent plenty of time going the other direction to play Eb parts on a C horn, but it is just so easy to play the "right" music on the "right" horn.

Just in-case somebody doesn’t know of the thread or organisation additional info on Tuba Christmas can be found here: https://www.tubaforum.net/viewtopic.php ... +Christmas
And the organisation’s web site is here: https://tubachristmas.com/
On their website there’s a find a local organiser function / option / button.

Doubtless there are other and better threads on the topic, the above’s just a start for anyone interested.

I just checked the Coordinator store (Where we order books to re-sell, etc at the event) and the Blue Eb book is not up there. Your best bet may be to get one from a coordinator who happens to already have some. I *think* the Baltimore folks mentioned having some of those. I'll DM you their address so you can check with them.

As an aside, it seems like the small books in general may be going away. They stopped offering the small yellow (treble clef) book already - unclear if they will eventually re-stock those.

I suspect it's going to be hard to come by one of the Eb treble clef books, simply because they haven't been widely distributed. I'm a coordinator for a TubaChristmas event this year, and only learned of the existence of the "blue book" a few days ago when I mentioned our local British-style brass band to Thomas Phillips over the phone. So, a copy is coming to me, but there doesn't seem to be a simple mechanism for purchasing more. And I can understand why: the vast majority of American tuba players can read bass clef as well as or better than treble clef, so almost no one really needs the blue book. But if you really want one, you might be able to have your local coordinator request one for you.

Thank you for the information travisd and je! The picture is filling in, and I know better what to ask for.

and thank you for the DM travisd! I cannot send PM's yet, or else I would have replied there. I'll ask Baltimore for assistance.

I ordered my online from the Tuba Christmas people. Came in time for my performance. Last year was my first Tuba Christmas.

It is a blue book and it has one line for Eb and one line for Bb. Both in TC.

So nice.
