I tried to share an image from my phone, and I don't have the app to do it. I'll come back and do it later.
(impressive/distinctive eyebrows on yet another handsome face)

... a long deceased cellist/music director who was a mentor of mine beginning around age 15 or so... probably pushed an audition committee to award me a scholarship to Interlochen, even though maybe I wasn't the strongest applicant (??)

As an adult - whereby I'm slipped into becoming more of a colleague, I would tell him some horribly filthy jokes at gig breaks, he would laugh hysterically, and then would drag me over and force me to tell them to his gorgeous wife. That cured me.

waiting for my next entrance...
' obviously forgot to remove the pencil from my ear...I'd wager that it stayed there all the way through the dinner break.

(If second half, I was probably planning out my exit strategy...
During intermission, I would sometimes double-park behind the music director's car for a super-fast load-out and escape (he would stay in his dressing room and shower/change prior to leaving)...
my favorite pops concerts: those with encores that don't have tuba parts written in them

Is that first picture in NYC by chance? I have a picture from the 1980s with my parents near that spot (I believe). My mom called it "the $100 picture" because they double parked to get the picture and came back to a $100 ticket on the car window.

Nope, Town Center in Virginia Beach. Coincidentally, I got a parking ticket here a few years back, playing (gratis) for a group that called me up last minute. Was nowhere near $100 though, thankfully!

The album pic I included because it's the same model tuba. :tuba:
