FS: Wessex Prokofiev, Mint condition
Hello, trying to clear out my basement and make room for more stuff…
For sale is a hand-picked Wessex Prokofiev Model 6/4 BBb tuba in silver plate. It has 4 pistons and 1 thumb operated rotor. I selected this tuba from a batch of 4-5 (can’t remember exactly) and have found it to be the best one of these that I’ve played. While they are all really consistently great, this one had a certain clarity and color in the sound that my wife found very appealing. At this particular point in my playing career, if I want to use a BBb tuba, I am looking for a very different sound (Germanic/rotors) and this tuba is too similar to my other 6/4 CC York-style tubas.
The tuba is in mint condition, with no dents anywhere I can find. The silver plating is in fantastic condition other than needing a good polish. Could also probably stand to have a chem-clean. All valves and slides are smooth and trouble free. The tuba comes with two sets of valve buttons (large and small) two main tuning slides (long and short), spare valve guides, valve springs, and an optional receiver adapter for mouthpieces with small shanks. It also includes the rolling ABS hard case.
$11,000 USD for local pickup in Cincinnati area. If buyer wants the tuba shipped, I am willing to take it to the local music store in town and the two parties can make arrangements for shipping. I will not handle the possible shipping arrangements. No trials, but if the buyer wants to try the tuba in my home, that should be easy to arrange.
Thanks for looking,

May be interested pending sale of my horn. Timing has to line up. I would love to have one of these.

Re: FS: Wessex Prokofiev, Mint condition
Hi, i am a highschool student and im looking for a good tuba so i can be professional and i was wondering if you would be up to trade your wessex prokofiev for my king 2341BBb tuba? My king 2341 was a gift to me a couple years ago and its previous owner bought it new for around $10k and it plays perfectly but there is one dent on the bottom but its not too big and a couple scratches as well but its good as new! and i would love to have a wessex prokofiev if you are down to make it happen!

Would you consider trading for a pack of Juicy Fruit gum? I've only chewed two sticks from this pack.
