This is a Conn 10J that is cosmetically challenged but mechanically in good shape. All slides move, valve plating is 100%. Newer felts and corks. Dents and dings as shown. I will work on getting those 2nd valve knuckle dents out and run some dent balls through the lead pipe as well.
I view this as a 3/4 sized tuba that punches a bit above its weight class with the larger 18" bell. Would be great for Dixieland or similar.
Asking $500 plus shipping or pick up in/around CT. I have a shipping box that fits. Buyer assumes all risk of shipping.

With this BBb I echo my thoughts of a similarly built Eb bass, I commented about that one on another thread.
Maybe I’m an old man of simple tastes but to me that’s what a BBb Bass should look like and be. It’s a lot like my Besson Regent 2 (three valve, non-compensating, but in this case Eb) except that that has the main tuning slide and water key are after the valve block - which is technically an advancement but in practice spreads the ‘water’ around more. My Sovereign (four valve, compensating, Eb) is more capable than my smaller Regent, but in practise that additional capability doesn’t add much of value and the darn thing is double the weight, more unwieldy and four plus times more expensive. Oh well, we’d be considered uncommitted and recognisable as amateurs if we didn’t play professional grade instruments.
Nice instrument, thanks for sharing, I hope that the new owner loves it.
