New Laskey 31PF Olka Signature Mouthpiece

Post by BuddyRogersMusic »

Greetings, all. I have a very limited number of the brand new Chris Olka Signature tuba mouthpiece from Laskey. The entire batch at the ITEC release sold out in one day. I have nine each of the Euro and US shank versions at $249(MAP pricing). We will definitely get more after these sell out but I wanted to get the word out quickly. Contact me directly to purchase or if you have questions; chite AT buddyrogers DOT com or chrish AT willismusic DOT com. My direct line is 513-853-9438.

Chris, I couldn't find the specs on this- cup type and diameter, throat etc. Any way you could post these?

From Laskey's site, "Built with a medium-wide, deep funnel cup and a rounded, comfortable rim."

As the 31 denotes, it lands between the 30 and 32 as far as measured rim openings but not too far from the 30. My perception is that the rim is more rounded than the 30 and the bite is less pronounced. I feel like there's more "real estate" in the cup that allows a player to easily move around the cup (shift in either direction) but not feel like the corners suffer from a rim opening that's too wide. Weight feels almost identical to a 30H but I didn't put them on a scale. The throat feels matched to the cup, meaning, it doesn't feel like an air hog or choked; Goldilocks, just right.

I spent about 30 minutes on it with my 836 and enjoyed it. There will be a bit of learning I have to do but practice is always good.

Hope this helps but if anyone has more questions, please don't hesitate to post here or call.

A quick supply update on the new model; we have one US shank and five Euro shank models left. More are on order but I'm not sure when they'll arrive. Please let me know if you're interested.
