Mark Carter has passed

Post by BuddyRogersMusic »

I was informed this morning that Mark Carter, "Mr. Tuba," has passed away after a battle with cancer. There was a thread down-board discussing his business. He leaves behind a wife and daughter. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

I am really sad to hear of this. Mark has always been really helpful and generous with his time and will be missed. He was also one of the very few people who would routinely stock non besson/ yamaha tubas in the UK. A true tuba guru…

Met him at his booth at Frankfurt Musikmesse, back in the day when that was THE thriving place to go.

Lots of treasures to be found there, and inspiring and informative chats to be had.
And the (old and, while slightly worn, still great and truly British) Euphonium he steered me towards has been of great service to our family to this day.

It is sad to learn of his passing, quite a role to fill in the low brass community.
