Someone here recommended it...
Regardless of settings, it tends to make everything sound ("to me") like old way-over-"Dolby"-ed 1970's cassette tapes...muddy, difficult to discern...etc.
...including with my favorite studio headphones (Sony 7502).
I just stumbled across this in "facebook memories", (once again) encountered the mud, uninstalled it, and - voila - I can once again hear everyone's playing...
(from a prehistoric quintet recital...This three mvmt. old warhorse stuck in as "filler"...ie. "something that won't suck up rehearsal time" - as we typically only rehearsed three or four times per recital, and the trumpet players always wanted to program "all this wild-ass stuff"...)
anyway...I'm happy with FxSound GONE...I DO listen to music occasionally (admittedly, mostly to learn pieces before I have to play them).
I just UN-installed FxSound from my laptop. ☺️

A whole bunch of headphones (yes, including a whole bunch of expensive ones) suck, but these particular ones are pretty incredible. FXSound sucks too... but so do a whole bunch of things - from shovels, to cars, to dish soap.
Knowing what the overwhelming majority of people in the western world listen to music-wise, I can't be too surprised that equipment designed to listen to that stuff doesn't play back the types of music that I listen to particularly well.

Yet you're back.
I monkeyed around with it and with most any profile it behaved like the old "loudness" button on a cassette deck. I consistently got better playback just setting all the things built into my laptop on "flat".
Of course, the origin of the signal always has something to do with it as well. I'm getting clearer playback with my vintage-ish studio-quality headphones out of my $99 Motorola cell phone that I am out of my laptop.
I suspect you believe you are being irritating. To the contrary. You're pretty good for comedy relief, but you need to be funnier. Work on funny, and maybe your temper.

So, you're crap headphones sound better than the crap loudspeakers of most laptops.
But I know the drill, wait a year and you'll praise Fxsound as the best thing you have found.
See you next year.
Hang around - you’ve got something to contribute and often from an angle not considered - there isn’t a forum around or even an in-person group where there aren’t folks who for whatever reasion find themselves at loggerheads. It’s the nature of the human condition.
I ordered a pair of the Truthear. Needed a pair of inexpensive earbuds that work and I don’t have to worry if I lose them or they get stolen out of my gym locker or the dogs eat them.

Hey Pete...
I've invited you several times to record some solos, so I can check out different sound reproduction systems, but - as much of an expert as you are on sound and sound production - you've never taken me up on it.
Don't be bashful.
