i made the mistake of selling my silverado... i hadn't used it much and thought i could do without it since we sold the camper... since, there's been a thousand things i could have used one for. i've been making do with a borrowed utility trailer, but i'm watching for one i think is worth the $. around here, they are much more expensive than i think they're worth...
I bought a 2002 Toyota Tundra for exactly that purpose - to have a truck around to do truck things. I paid $6K for it and it sits out in front of my house most of the time (accumulating new hail dents to go with the old ones I'm sure), but it's super handy when I need to do "truck things." I've thought about selling it and my daily driver to buy a nicer truck, but decided it's not worth it at the moment, and likely won't be until my kids are a bit older and I'm not hauling them around as much. Hopefully it'll still be worth about $6K when I'm done with it.

I thought it'd be hilarious to have one of those old Honda Streets, and it'd be able to fit everything I'd ever need, since I'd be owning less than 7 horns.

I'd love to have one of those. With my height though, the door jam is right in my line of vision when I look to the left.

It doesn't fit a tuba, but I traded a mint restored Holton 345 (plus cash) for it, so it fits here.

Ok, ok, here is it: my green tuba transportation vehicle, a Danish build Bullit cargo bike from Larry versus Harry. 11 speed transmission, belt drive, 120 kg cargo plus driver, and, of course green. Wait, where did I displace the URL ??? Can't see my own post on TubeNet any more. :gaah: Ok, have to dig out the picture and upload once more. .... here it is :tuba:

There are various makes & models of cargo bikes (aka cycle trucks) available. Workman Cycles and Yuba Bikes are more easily found over here.

I'll probably rig something up out of wood and spare wheels for my tuba. No way I'm using a school tuba when I have mine!

Make friends at your local bike shop and let them know what you’re looking for. If one comes available used, they can hook you up.

A cycle trailer might work well also.

I figured the easiest way for a high schooler who doesn't make too much money would be to build it myself! I'm not as good as bloke or any of you guys, but I can build the trailer good enough so it doesn't fall apart.

For quite a few years, I performed in a faculty quintet at Ole Miss during a commencement that began only an hour and a half after my Saturday cruise ship lounge gig which ended in Memphis at noon. Traffic on campus was at a standstill, because one huge commencement had just ended, and two others were about to… well…commence.
My strategy - black suit at all – was to park just off campus in a closed-on-Saturdays insurance building parking lot, pull out my bicycle, strap my F tuba to my back in its bag, and ride through the campus to the amphitheater. Endless lines of cars were at a standstill, but I was passing them allgoing 15 to 20 miles an hour on my bike. That was back when I weighed 300 pounds...but that didn’t prevent me from riding a bicycle. Without the bicycle, it would never have been possible for me to make that gig on time. Well... some seriously fast driving was also involved, but never mind that. I could hear several people in their cars – who had their windows open - say, “I wish we had thought of that”.

Look for one of those kid/pet trailers used on Craigslist and modify. Cheap and easy.
