WTB Cheap Bass Tuba In Eastern Pa

Just wanted to see what kind of bass tubas are for sale in eastern pa under 1k, doesnt have to be pretty, just plays well!

Just a heads up that most of what you'll find in that price range will be older 3v Eb tubas. Not sure that's exactly what you're looking for.
I am working on converting a Martin Medium Eb to a five valve, front action tuba using King valves and a Cerveny rotor.
I also have a five valve F tuba project made with an Eb bell, a King/Holton valveset and Miraphone 183 rotor that is 80% complete.

There has been a 3v Eb here for sale on facebook marketplace for awhile. I think $600 was the asking price.

I saw a older lacquered 3v Conn for $700 but the guy found someone else

Older three-valve E-flat tubas are a dime a dozen. You shouldn't spend more than $500 on a non-compensating one . EBay and Reverb.
If you want one that plays in tune maybe a 3-valve compensating Besson or B&H, etc.

Sorry, it was still on Facebook so I thought it might still be available. Watch out for bass tubas, they're kinda fun.

Would the valves needed replated be a worry?
