Question about older ('80s) vs newer YEP-321s

I have a '70s or '80s YEP-321 that needs a valve cap, guide, stem and finger button.
What changes have been made throughout the model run?
I've read chatter about fine vs. coarse threading on the caps. Can someone give me a rundown?
