FS: York 6/4 CC tuba

Hello, for sale is my York 6/4 CC tuba. Almost the entire horn is original York, even the valves. The horn is very free blowing and has an amazing sound as you can imagine. Unlike most York 6/4 tubas, this one has a large bore independent 5th valve. The valve action is great, and all the slides move well. This was a horn that was built with a lot of care and maintained with love. I believe it was built for Steve Dumain in the NSO.

I can vouch for this seller -- Theo is a great dude with whom I have done business several times in the past and I am sure this is a great tuba.
Do you have any information regarding who did the build? .750" bore? Is the fifth valve Kanstul?

Yes, 0.750 bore throughout the valves. They are original York. I believe the 5th valve was made by meinlsmidt in Germany, will check. It was built by Bob Schilp at Dillon music and played in the national symphony for awhile.

It appears as though someone did a ton of work reconfiguring that valve section from tilt to vertical. Kudos to them on all that work.

Yes, I believe it was cut down. Which definitely hones in the sound.

I believe this tuba has sold, but doesn't the Army provide an instrument?
I had a classmate in college who was in the 202nd Army Band (National Guard band) and they provided him with a Meinl-Weston Thor CC and a Miraphone Firebird F.
