Today I learned Tommy Johnson’s first gig was playing Tubby the Tuba for the Disney Movie and that’s when he decided if he was going to be a tuba player or work for Goodyear Rubber Company.

In the middle there is an unexpected Buddy Rich reference. The first part of the video is a good example of how Gene uses a tuba playing stand different than anyone else I’ve seen - turning it perpendicular. I always learn something interesting during Gene Talks!
