I missed this the first time around. Yes, indeed. That is my stock answer when anybody asks the difference. i tell them you hold a tuba; you wear a souzy: same notes, same valves. And yes, they are more than this when you modify at least the upper first valve loop to be a moveable slide. I joke with my band director friends that as you "ride throttle" on the first valve loop on a "concert tuba," I ride throttle on my concert souzy.
