Cut part of the leadpipe. Apparently, it goes all the way to the end of the receiver.

The brace by the receiver could not go back on, even modified. Katy did not fabricate a new mini-brace. She said she thought it might not need it but to provide feedback if the weight of the mouthpiece ends up being too much for it.
