It's not uncommon to for the trombone section to ACT like children, but my goodness....these guys look like they ARE children.

I've heard them and they sounded great. Young people should never be underestimated.

"The glory of young men is their strength, and gray hair is the splendor of the old."
Proverbs 20:29

Looks can be deceiving. Three of the four non-elephants in the photo have DMAs and are university professors. Only one is still in his twenties, and he has his MM from Yale.

This is one of the best trombone sections I have worked with. Very solid section.

@tubatodd That reminds me of the Canadian Brass in recent years... Sometimes it looks like Chuck and his grandkids. But hoo boy can those grandkids play!

A gig this past weekend at a tree lighting event—was a bit chilly but fun.

Josh Omaits on Oval Baritone, Pete Norton on euphonium, myself on F tuba, and one of my mentors, Tim Olt on CC tuba. I learn so much and improve my playing every time I play with these fellows.

My “worldly folk music group” Sombati at a Ren Faire in Frisco Texas last weekend. We played a mix of 14th to 17th century Italian, French, Irish, & Scottish music, some traditional Moroccan, Turkish, & Bulgarian music, and a couple of newish things that seemed to fit. Fun show.

Going through some old photos and found this from 2008: Chris Olka, Jon Hill and me.
