Re: Maybe I’m late to the party on this hack

I saw that mixing baking soda, salt, and boiling water in a bowl lined with aluminum foil would polish silver if you submerge the silver item in it. Damned if it didn’t work instantly. Didn’t even have to scrub.

Going to try my mouthpieces next.

That’s what i do. It works, uses cheap stuff i ...

Have you contacted this guy? I saw his posts in at least 3 places and it’s not marked sold yet anywhere. Had been considering getting his 3J at one point so it stuck in my mind.

I don’t need a 6/4 horn and am borrowing a 983 on trial soon, but this is so close by and so tempting.

Go get it! When is another Conn Orchestra Grand going to be available in Idaho?

It would have been a good story. Snowmobiling from West Yellowstone to Mammoth with a giant tuba strapped ...

I have the same headphones. They are excellent and a bargain for the price.

Same here. A cat chewed the cord off of my old pair and I liked them enough to go to the effort of adding a ⅛ inch TRS jack to it so that the cord is easily replaceable. That pair has since disappeared from my desk, and ...

Re: What did you play today?

Had my first quintet yesterday at the Army era Chapel at Mammoth in Yellowstone (which I can coincidentally see from my living room window, so getting there was easy). Hoping to make it a tradition. Played the Canadian Brass Easy Christmas Quintet book in a non-traditional way with whatever players ...

Though, there is something to be said for our sagebrush. You don't have to mow it or water it. Beyond 150 feet from the house we don't do anything to it. Close to the house is gravel and pavers. Beyond 50 feet, we keep the bunch grass and other wild stuff mowed short out to 150 feet. Beyond that ...

It’s only about 2 hours away, which is about the time of my wife’s commute or the time it takes for me to get to the group I’m playing with. But even if I was interested there are t any new tubas in my future till the NPS starts paying me again.

B&S GR-51 - Billings, MT - $5000

This GR-51 has been listed for more than a year, but folks have been mentioning them on the forum a bit lately so I thought I’d post it. $5000. I met the owner last Christmas and he’s a nice guy. Nice horn.

What is dilution of vinegar you use... It's 5% out of the bottle.. hour much do you cut it further?

If you want to maybe up the cleaning power and lower the cost look at glacial acetic acid. ~100% pure, I used to buy it to use in the darkroom for $12 a gallon. 19 gallons of water mixed in would ...

Same. My mom lives an hour and a half north of Wade. If he still had it at Thanksgiving I was definitely going to go get it.

There was one for sale near to you in Ronan not long ago but looking up the ad it seems to be sold now. If you’re open to something that’s not a 186, I’ve met this guy John in Billings who has a B&S GR51 (PT-605) for $5k. Might be worth checking out. https://www.facebook.com/share/19XcFMiNdA ...
