Re: King 2280 euphonium compared to Yamaha 321 euphonium
I don't know about the King receiver, but I've owned 2 different 321's over the years. Had the larger Yamaha receiver installed on both...made a huuuuge difference.
Love my 1975 B&H Imperial for the sound, but sometimes I think of nabbing another 321....

Re: King 2280 euphonium compared to Yamaha 321 euphonium
I have to yet to find a more consistent intermediate Euph than the Yamaha 321. I like the 321 over the King for the following reasons:
1. Better valves - those Kings have inferior plating
2. Yamaha nylon valve guides vs those klanky (and often loose) metal King ones
3. Better intonation top-to ...

Re: Adult “Beginner” Mouthpiece?
A few 'tuba-doubling' bass trombonists that I know swear by the Denis Wick 2 or 3XL. Narrow cup that's not much bigger than a large bass bone mp. A wider cushioned rim to give more surface area to help control the OH embouchure (vs an OO like on trombone) and also to help with endurance.

Re: Yamaha 661 CC tuba for Sale
I absolutely love my 661. Mine is from this same vintage...upgraded Yamaha minibals, left hand 5th, and no bell stamp/engraving. I play it all the time...have used it with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Milwaukee Symphony, Florentine Opera, Chicago Philharmonic, the Wintergreen Festival and other ...

Re: What Euphonium does Mulcahy use?
Mulcahy hasn't used a 321 with the CSO since 2001 at the latest.
