Re: Sousa anyone?

Sousa’s marches are classics, and having modern editions with recordings for free is such a great gift for musicians and fans alike.

Re: Shoulder replacement

Dropping back into this thread a bit late — I stumbled across your post and everything you described felt really familiar. I also had a massive rotator cuff tear along with arthropathy. I ended up going to this clinic in Texas where Dr. Kevin Kruse works — honestly, they were the only ones who ...

Re: Inexpensive setup for recording tuba from laptop/tablet

Honestly, the Audio Technica AT2020 USB mic is a solid pick if you're looking for something easy and affordable. You just plug it into your laptop or tablet, and it gets the job done without a lot of hassle. It’s not gonna be studio-grade, but it sounds good enough for things like auditions or ...

Re: Eastman EBC834…keep an eye out…

The Eastman EBC834 could be a winner. It seems like it’ll give players a solid, all-around option without needing to go for a larger or smaller pairing.

Re: Search For Stainless Alternative

I’d say look at the Sellmansberger Solo Cup or maybe a Denis Wick model. If you’re after that shallow cup and specific measurements, these might be close enough. Also, a lot of people just use nail polish on the rim to stop the irritation.

Re: Tuba and Parkinson’s

From what I've seen, Parkinson’s can definitely impact a tuba player's ability to perform, but it doesn't necessarily end their musical journey. The onset of the disease forces players to make adjustments, like taking breaks during long sessions or focusing on easier parts. I’ve seen players with ...
